Literature Text

   An endless,
   unattainable
   Sea of Stars
   undulated slightly,
   almost silently,
   through
   the Moorlands skies.

   If only its quietness
   wasn't constantly broken
   by a floating myriad
   of obsidian wings
   capturing every light
   to cover their bareness
   on the eerie night.

   Leaving the dark
   darker...
   all known
   and unknown winds
   were woken
   betrayed
   by their own secrets.

   Unearthing ghosts
   that once had a heart
   beating like mine
   such is the majesty
   of their murmurous
   stirring
   the mirrored waters.

So they will be as my eyes
   momentarily dried
   no rain
   shall fall
   from them
   not even any drop
   of the dawning dew.

   Fragmented filaments
   veiled and mixed within
   the fabric of the Elements
   will slowly yet relentlessly
   invade the atmosphere
   of my dreams
where I will be dormant and lost.

   Undescribable are now
the thoughts that once were mine
untenable is my soul to wear
   slidering into the long shadows
testimony the end of stars, these last words,
I sculpt on the basalt where I was born
certainly they too will eventually disappear.

It turned to be a cascade of seven stanzas - a long structure, it was completed in this form
to serve a purpose as my friend asked to perform on "The End of Days" poetry session.
