Literature Text

The aurora awakes our lukewarm skin
In a brief break from sun
the light sliding combs our hair
leaving it scattered as gold

Lips slightly parted
too red for the dawning of the morning
our ripped smiles slowing
crunching green apples
if
from the rivers
all waters flees
would I find
still…
tears in your eyes
making them return?

This is a free interpretation, a slightly different translation from the original Portuguese poem "Amanhece a Pele", already published here, in my gallery
