It's been cold for quite some time...
winter closets leave reluctantly their well guarded warm clothes
for those unprotected shoulders that wished summer was still here
I don't care for the latest fashion desires, feathers in furs, or crazy umbrellas,
expensive dresses or smooth leather stiletto heels
I'm good with my woolen sweater and wind-cutter
fine in jeans and my feet thanks me for the dry socks and comfortable mountain boots
and though I forgot gloves, the pockets are big enough for my hands...
freely as I can - I walk the riverside line

Jancaradas exhibit a complexity of greens, filled with bags of seeds
as other trees lose their prosperity and colours
spilling their leaves to dance elsewhere,
the last autumn leaves...
golden jewels crystallize inside little pools
of this magic, made of falling drops of rain
where sparrows flinch and bath, mirrors of eternity
water fertilize land and cleans the sidewalk
nurturing poet's souls

Some trees persist, evergreen and glowing
catching every sunbeam they can
others seem to hibernate, sleeping beauties,
waiting for spring
mosses and lichens cling on to their bareness
dressing them with pale greens and soft yellows
hibiscus shines in a myriad of exuberant delicate flowers
gooseberries and pomegranates are mature and desirable
scents of sweetness fills the air

Gardens vibrate, in the early morning light
grasses and clovers grow wildly
so, the ivy-vine with all shapes and greens,
and azaleas of almost every shades,
some people calls them papers flowers
from transparent white to bloody crimson, dark pinks and purples,
some seems azure blue...
they climb trunks, branches and fringes of old houses,
dwelling there like angels hair

I play a tip-too maze game
not wanting to wet my feet even more
my nose and ears hurts from a sharp humid cold
getting through tissue, my skin froze slowly
yet the clouds admire my tenacity and despite
their cumulating castles of dark blue and grey
they hold on tears, refrain their pain
perhaps they know of my own...
and aches for me, as I too, feel their sorrow

I cross over streets and walls of buildings, dripping
from the outside to the inside,
images of them live on my mind, on my breath and soul
on the heartbeat of my pen and paper as I write down
all the words I can remember and the ones I have forgotten
the day flashes beneath my eyelashes, another kind of leaves
the minute I step in the place I call home
night appears and disappears filled with stars
every one with a different name for dreams and words

This poem fits well the fickle weather of Texas of late. Irises blooming as are wildflowers in spite of roller-coaster temps, I'll know for sure when come the cranes.

It was a rebel poem from the start, hard to feat in just one perspective. in the end looking back I love it.
That my friend must be a wonderful sight... seeing the arrival of cranes, it must be marvellous... they are marvellous.

yeap... I do!! and in a way I have to, going to work and home it's on foot. On winter is harder and I don't like it so much... but the autumn (the 1st part) continues to be my fav season, along with spring.
